Costa Rica Real Estate Investing

Investing In Costa Rica

I do not want to infuse this program with ranting page after page about the deficiencies of Costa Rica in comparison to other countries (though I will note them, where appropriate and truthful).  I have encountered books that deconstruct Costa Rica, ad nauseam; these books are often cautionary tales only.  Rather, I want to state up front that I love Costa Rica and I see it as a country rife with opportunity.  However, I am a realist and my love has been tempered in experience.  It would be dishonest for me to say, for instance, that the value placed here on work ethic and personal responsibility is defined in the same way as it is in the more developed nations.  My intention is to guide you toward a positive, but real approach to making money through real estate in Costa Rica.  Only by noting the major disparities—not by complaining about them—can one be prepared, and feel comfortable making important financial decisions.

Be a leader!  It is time to move your capital to an up-cycle market to start realizing safe healthy returns again.  Once you have this knowledge, you can capitalize on the explosion of demand coming from the baby boomers to Costa Rica.

First, it is important to discuss why Costa Rica is a place where you should invest your time and capital.  After researching temperate areas close to North America, the benefits offered by Costa Rica make it the clear choice.  Now that I live and invest in Costa Rica, I know that it is far superior to other rival areas.  I highly recommend the Culture Shock! series of books for those interested in a deeper discussion about the positives and negatives of the Central American countries.
